BEST DJ 2006!
(2001, 2003 & 2005)

DJ Jeremy Welcome

JUNE 2007

AUDIO SAMPLES are at the bottom of the page :)

Enrique IglesiasDo You Know (The Ping Pong Song)” (Ralphi Rosario & Craig CJ's Vocal Mix) ~ My boy is back and it’s been too long!  Who doesn’t love that voice ???  Enrique croons like no tomorrow and Ralphi and Craig CJ Rock the SHIT out the remix!  Intro’ing the mix with a hard funky ripping bass synth that makes you wet and preps you for something special.  2 & ½ mins in Ralphi & Craig segue into a beautiful musical base for Enrique’s silky heralding vocals that lets ya know… everything’s gonna be alright.  There are so many levels to this mix that you have to listen to it several times, cause you’ll hear something new each time.  Even now I’m noticing the acoustic guitar where I hadn’t before.  Simply Beautiful!  IioRapture” (Starkillers / Friscia & Lamboy) ~ Part of the new Iio remix album, Starkillers’ remix is very very hot!  Friscia & Lamboy’s remix is not on the remix album so keep an eye out for it cause it too is smmmokin!  Next we have two new bootlegs that are burning up dance floors all around the country... Hilary DuffWith Love” (Ranny and Gustavo's Dark'n Dirty Mix) ~ The commercially released remixes of this song are really good but for that extra tribal anthem bite none come close to this mix!  DJ Ranny Olivera continues his hot tribal streak with a MUCH needed energy boost to Get FarShining Star” (Ranny's Electropop Mix) ~ The original is good radio fodder but it won’t get played in my club.  But this remix… That’s a different story!  Don’t let the remix name fool you, it’s not Pop.  This one can definitely be categorized in the hot new Electro-Tribal genre.  Keep an eye on this producer cause he’s got the Midas touch lately!

Stevie NicksStand Back” (Ralphi Rosario / Tracy Young) ~ Incredible new mixes of this classic with resung vocals by Stevie herself!  Both mixes are super hot and super long clocking in at 11:30 mins each!  But for the first time in a long time I didn’t mind as much cause the song kept changing as the remixers use different elements of the song all the way thru out so it doesn’t feel like 11 mins.  If the length does bother you then there are mixshow edits of each roughly 7 mins a piece.  One of the true gems on this release is Tracy Young’s Dub.  She beefs up the instrumental to make it truly different and worth while on it’s own.  Many times Dubs are just glorified instrumentals offering nothing more to the mix package but not the case with Tracy Young.  It’s a beautiful sweeping synth ride that makes me want to extend her already 11+ min mix with this one creating an amazing 20 minute Stevie Nicks / Tracy Young journey!  (Stand Back…I’m having a JR Moment!)  Nelly FurtadoAll Good Things (Come To An End)” (Dave Aude / Kaskade) ~ This one really surprised me, I mean Nelly’s on fire lately but I wasn’t expecting something so beautiful this time round!  Of course that’s mostly thanks to master remixers Dave Aude & Kaskade.  My favorite mix is Aude’s.  It’s a feel good dance floor romp and I can already see crowds jumping up and down to it singing along.

Booty LuvShine” (Hoxton Whores / Moto Blanco) ~ Talk about 2 totally different takes on a song but that’s what remixes are for.  Moto Blanco dishes up their usual happy groovy vibe staying true to the Luther Vandross original vibe while Hoxton Whores tickles your g spot with chunky bass lines and tweaky electro synths.  Armand Van HeldenIf You Don’t Even Know Me 2007” ~ AVH dusts off one of his own classics to revamp it with the ever popular electro sound but gets a little lost on the way in turn creating a bit of a sketchy noise fest.  But given the right moment (K Hole or other drug induced state of mind) it will either be magnificent or disastrous.   Bob SinclarI Feel For You” (Axwell 2007 Remix) ~ Another house music classic getting a 2007 makeover (did we already run out of 70’s and 80’s song to remake?).  This one fares alot bit better than AVH’s mess.  It reminds me a lot of Lil Louis’s “French Kiss” and will definitely mess with your mind even more if you’re already on your way (ahh the good old days).  Axwell takes us deep on a funky electro afterhours aural journey.  Respect this for what it is and hopefully you’ll love it as much as I do.  Masters At WorkWork 2007” (David Amo Electro Mix) ~ So far the best of the recent club electro makeovers because it embodies the true essence of electro – it’s Dirty, Funky, Chunky, Nasty, Groovy... It’s perfect!  Make it louder and louder, bob your head, shake your Ass! - You FEEL this mix!  I get chills listening even now haha J Leana  “I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight” (Solar City vs DJ Rico Electro Anthem / Eric Kupper) ~ The Swedish diva returns with a rockin cover of Cutting Crew’s 80’s classic.  Personally I love it. You can’t please everyone but who cares about them J  Solar City & DJ Rico do an amazing job on their remix keeping the energy up while Eric Kupper dishes up a tasty groovy house remix.

RihannaUmbrella” (Jody Den Broeder / Rafael Lelis) ~ A whole slew of remixes (2 funky house mixes I didn’t review) to satisfy most tastes except for the Rafael Lelis which is not commercially released so you’ll have to look extra hard for that one (wink).  Unfortunately the record labels are ignoring the big room anthem sound opting for the funky / deep / groovy / electro or otherwise NON slammin genres.  I love them all and they have a place in my playlist but nothing shakes up a dance floor like a big room slammer!  Rafael Lelis hits this mark and knocks it thru the roof!  If your floor can’t handle the big room sound (and many can’t) then Jody’s mix is the next best thing or just the best thing depending on your style.  I personally love it (I love a lot of things hehe)  It still has a lot of energy and will satisfy most anthem hungry crowds.  Kelly ClarksonNever Again” (Jason Nevins / Dave Aude) ~ Kelly’s latest girl anthem gets a dance makeover by 2 of today’s hottest remixers but Nevins fails to keep the dance floor in mind and instead opts to target dance radio (granted, that’s where the money is).  Aude’s mix flows much better for the dance floor and won’t have people thinking “Did the DJ just slow things down?” (honest to god true response from a couple of my regulars – even tho the BPM is 137 on Nevins’ mix)  But I guess it’s a good end of night mix.  EliessDon’t Stop Till You Get Enough” (Pakito Remix) ~ I Love Pakito!  We haven’t heard poppy progressive energy like this since G Spott & Yomanda.  And yes this does pull from Michael Jackson’s classic hit but you’ll hardly notice it.  Viva La Cheese!!  YazooDon’t Go” (Whorehouse Remix) & Starting Rock ft Diva Avari Don’t Go” ~ Once again we are faced with the dilemma of 2 good versions of the same song altho Starting Rock (Ultra Records) is a cover.  It’s apples and oranges for me depending on my crowd or time of the night.  The Yazoo bootleg is fan-friggin-tastic with it’s dramatic build-ups and progressive funky music – truly a crowd pleaser.  Starting Rock ft Diva Avari (remix by Pakito I think) is a hi energy progressive club slammer (refer to Pakito review above for more on his style) that is also a crowd pleaser but just depends on your personal style.
